Ace Of Diamonds First Impressions | Should You Watch?

So one week ago I started watching Ace Of Diamonds and all I can say is that it is a very good series so far!  It has great humour and action just like Haikyuu! (volleyball sports anime)

speaking about Haikyuu! and sports anime like Free! and, Yuri On Ice! those are these months featured animes for the Akibento Subscription box, get it now before its too late!

But now getting started on the first impression/review…

Synopsis of series:

With a stray pitch that completely missed the batter, Eijun Sawamura loses his final middle school baseball game. Frustrated by this defeat, Eijun and his teammates vow to reach the national tournament once they are in high school. But everything changes when a scout unexpectedly invites him to Tokyo’s prestigious Seidou High School after seeing the potential in his unusual pitching style. Encouraged by his teammates, Eijun accepts the offer, ready to improve his skills and play at a much more competitive level of baseball.

However, now surrounded by a large number of skilled players, Eijun struggles to find his place on the team. He declares that he will one day become the team’s ace, but that’s only if fellow first year Satoru Furuya doesn’t take the title first, with his breakneck fastballs that earn him a coveted spot on the starting roster. With the addition of these talented new players to an already powerful lineup, the Seidou baseball team aims to become the best in Japan, facing off against a number of formidable foes that stand in their way.

As of now, I’m about 12 episodes into the first season and all I can say right now is that it is doing quite about of those basic sport anime tropes of the underdog training to be what will become the best player or what this series calls it “The Ace”. But even though it is going down the basic trope route I will not say it is doing a bad job. It’s not overusing what we have already seen and every other sports anime which is nice. if anything this is one of the better sorts animes I’ve watched in a while.

One thing that really drew me into this series was its art style, and some people might say it is pretty basic for a sports anime, but as soon as you see the first baseball being thrown and you see Eijun’s face of determination and him throwing the baseball you just get entranced into the series. The realistic movements of the amazing art mixed with the great story just makes the series that much better the other sports animes.

Another thing that makes this series so good so far is the comedy and the funny characters, there are so many times where I laughed out loud and that doesn’t happen too often when I’m watching a series.

But if you haven’t watched this series I hope this was able to give you more information about “Ace Of Diamonds” is about. as for you watching this series, I RECOMMEND YOU WATCH IT! 🙂
