For years we’ve been enchanted by the world’s and stories presented by Studio Ghibli, and in 2022 there’ll finally be a theme park where guests can experience these worlds for themselves. Set on a 22-hectare plot in Nagoya, Japan (originally home to the 2005 World’s Fair) Ghibli Park will be a mix of nature trails, themed rides and exhibition areas based on famous Ghibli locations.
The first concept art for the park has recently been released showing Witch Valley (an area that will feature attractions based on Howl’s Moving Castle and Kiki’s Delivery Service) and a recreation of the village from Princess Mononoke. The Big Ghibli Warehouse is another planned area of the park which will house a selection of themed play areas and cinemas.
The original recreation of the house from My Neighbour Totoro that was built for the 2005 World’s Fair will also remain in the park, there’ll even be a Totoro themed Dondoko Forest walk so you can relive the magic of the film.
